My Most Exciting Week Thus Far

WOW! Am I ever feeling challenged to post a daily blog these days! The weather is so incredible and I am taking advantage of being out of doors every moment that I can. It seems so odd that a year ago, my daily outings consisted of a trip to the cancer institute for treatment, followed by a short walk to my deck and a comfy chair. This year, with having my mobility back, the fresh air draws me like a drug, and I am incapable of resisting it!

This week, I am trying 3 days of work, 6 hours each day! I am quite excited about it - each day seems a bit easier, though I am exhausted at the end of each shift. But I don't worry too much about that - many "healthy" people need a nap at the end of their day as well. My company has been amazing to me, always assuring me that whatever works best for me, also works best for them. I am very fortunate.

Yesterday when I got home, I received a call from my family doctor. She was just checking in to see how I am doing, and to let me know that she is going on vacation for a month. She asked that I book an appointment with her upon her return, and in the meantime, she had some things that she wants me to do for the radiation side effects. I am so blessed to have her for a doctor.

This Friday Shoot-Out is Yard Objects! Lots of fun to shoot. The following week is Reflections! I have to tell you - the shoot outs have been SO good for my health and my sense of community, both virtual and real. I am getting out and about, doing lots of walking and exploring, and then get to show what I discover in some kind of creative way. Life doesn't get much better.

Next week A Taste of Edmonton starts - I have plans to go with Salima from work. I am very excited about that.

How is your summer/winter going? Hope that you are out and enjoying the riches of nature, the sounds of your community, etc, etc.

DON'T resist it. You are doing so well and you should KNOW a lot of it has to be your attitude. You've come this far because of who you are as a person and I am thrilled life is so full for you.

  5. ...t"he fresh air draws me like a drug, and I am incapable of resisting it!"

    What a truth.

I have to go out and take my shootout pictures for this week. And I'm so glad that you posted about the following week being reflections. Now I can think about them both at once.

I'm glad you are doing well and living life fully!

  7. You sound great! I too am challenged with writing in my blog..that sunshine is too tempting. I've written nothing in my novel but hey, can't write about life if you don't live it right?

You sound fantastic! I wonder if you went to a naturopath and got some alternative recommendations to compliment your doctor's recommendations to help with your radiation side affects. Just a thought.

  9. Good morning hon!! So glad you are able to get out and about this year - whoo hoo!! I too love the shoot outs - for the very same reason. My weeks are full of being here at home - because of all the kiddos here..can only get out in the yard. The shootouts get me walking and out of my weekly rut! Love that!! Not to mention a few pounds off the backside too!
Thanks for following my new blog - yikes..it's all your fault Audrey that I need a new space for all of these fun photo memes- lol not really. Love, Sarah

But next week I will be working in Portugal, so I am hoping to see some sun, and no doubt feel as frisky as you! :o) I shall at least be having my dinner at the seafront every night, come rain OR shine!
Amazing what we appreciate isn't it?

  15. As those of you in the North open your lives up to the beauty of summertime, those of us in the South begin our hermitage. It is 101 not noon yet today. I equate it to the harsh winters when you stay indoors and I am out in the fresh air and sunshine. So enjoy it Audrey! The seasons are beautiful and I can't wait to see your photos on Friday!
